What to expect in a Purna Yoga class

At Purna Yoga Helsinki, we are dedicated to helping our clients live healthier and happier lives through the practice of yoga and asana. Our studio offers a variety of classes, ranging from beginner-level Purna Basics to All Level classes, Intermediate classes, Gentle and Restorative yoga, Meditation and classes tailored to expecting and new mothers. We aim to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone, so come and join us!


When you are ready to book a class and you take a look at our schedule, where should you start?


Here comes a few guidelines to orientate yourself...

Purna Yoga Class

NEW TO YOGA


If you are completely new to yoga it is best to start with these classes:


Purna basic LEVEL 1- is a beginner-friendly class which is designed to help you ease into the shapes of the yoga postures as you stretch and strengthen your body. Whether you are a complete novice or a student in their first year of yoga or work with an injury.

Gentle Yoga ALL LEVELS - this class offers a slower practice for those seeking a gentle workout. Perfect for seniors, those just beginning or returning to yoga, or anyone simply looking for a relaxing experience.

Restorative Yoga ALL LEVELS - experience the healing and empowering effects of Purna Restorative Yoga similar to Yin yoga. This is for you if you want to start slowly, easing in to regular more active classes.

YOU HAVE PRACTICED A BIT OF YOGA BEFORE

These classes are for ALL LEVELS of practitioners. Each class balance your body and mind with a practice that combines postures, breath, a guided meditation, and a quiet relaxation. Are you ready to getting to know Purna Yoga?


YOU HAVE 1 YEAR OR MORE OF EXPERIENCE WITH YOGA

Align&Shine LEVEL 1-2

This class is for students who have practiced Purna Yoga on a regular weekly basis or in another alignment based system, are ready to move on from the beginners level, after more than one year experience with yoga.


YOU HAVE PRACTICED MORE THAN 2 YEARS

Intermediate practice LEVEL 2

Welcome more experienced yogis, this class is designed for students who have practiced Purna Yoga on a regular weekly basis or in another alignment based system for at least two years.

YOU WANT TO START MEDITATING?


Meditation class

One of the obstacles to meditation is the ability to sit for a longer time, that’s why we recommend a regular asana practice in combination with meditation. Our meditation comes in a course format, please talk to one of our teachers if you are ready to start the course.


FOR MUM'S TO BE

Prenatal Yoga classes - from 14-40 weeks of pregnancy, no previous experience necessary


Postnatal Yoga classes - with baby from 6 weeks - 9 months, no previous experience necessary
