Leena first found yoga in Paris in 2005. Over the years yoga improved Leena’s health in an important way, but she always felt that yoga could be much more. Then, in 2016, at Purna Yoga Helsinki, it was love at first sight.
”I immediately knew I had found the yoga I had hoped would exist, and was relieved. My previous yoga practice had helped me with physical pain and had brought more awareness into the body, but something had been lacking: the heart connection, the connection to myself.”
Leena is also a practitioner of an old Finnish alignment body therapy, bone setting, and receives clients in Kamppi, Helsinki. Due to her healing work Leena is interested in the healing properties of yoga.
“At Purna Yoga, alongside with the deep spirituality, there is a deep understanding of the physical body. These two combined the body can start to release layers of stress, pain, tiredness, whatever you have, and leave space for a sense of true happiness to emerge.”
Meditation has been part of Leena’s daily practice since 2004. At Purna Yoga Leena found more layers in her meditation practice, too, and a more intimate connection to it.
”We look for so many things in meditation: a clearer mind, more energy, concentration, calmness, etc.
These are all extremely beneficial effects of meditation, but we easily overlook what is most important: the heart, a simple surrender to our heart.”
Graduated from the Purna Yoga College Helsinki in April 2018 with a 200 hr certificate she is extremely happy and honored to teach at the Purna Yoga Helsinki studio.
