Purna Yoga Helsinki invites you to feel at home experiencing yoga for the first time. Or would you like to revive a lost practice? Are you looking for a new approach on yoga? We will talk about what yoga is all about and where it comes from, the benefits of a regular practice and how to do some of the basic postures that form the foundation of our classes at Purna Yoga Helsinki.
This workshop will be over 2 weekends and covers the following:
- a discussion of the origin, philosophy, and benefits of Yoga and especially Purna Yoga
- the Purna Yoga Hip Opening Series, the Morning Series and Sun Salutations and some basic postures
- a calming restorative practice and experience on the Great Yoga Wall
- basic meditation techniques
- how a practice of yoga can be used for everyday life to enhance your well-being
What to expect:
During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to ask questions that others in the room probably also have. Upon completion of this workshop, you will be prepared for any of our basics classes. Yoga mats and other props will be provided for you. If you do have your own mat, you are welcome to bring it. Please wear comfortable and happy clothes.
The price for the 2 weekends is 100/85 €.
If you want to add an unlimited 1 month pass it will be offered to you at the reduced price of 210/195 € for both weekends and the 1 month pass (starting date of your choice within the first month after the workshop). The lower prices apply to those who are unemployed, students, on maternity leave or seniors.
- We will refund the full price if the cancellation is made up to 30 days prior to the course
- We will refund 50% of the price if the cancellation is made up to 29-15 days prior to the course
- Cancellations after 14 days or less will only be returned with a medical certificate. However a customer may acquire another participant

Each labour and birth is unique. Without creating expectations, in this course you will learn how to gain confidence for a positive unfolding of your birth.
To support the birthing process the pelvis needs to be opened to its maximum to allow the baby to pass through. Ease of movement and certain positions will facilitate this opening with the support of the partner. We will practice different birthing positions and learn how to use the breath effectively and for best results. The couple will be taught how to use sound to stimulate the labour and help to relax. Useful tips for the birthing partner are offered so he can be of natural assistance.
